1. Heart Health

The rhythmic movements and high-pace exercises do a great job of getting your heart rate up. These exercises also increase your blood circulation which is a key part of your overall health. With optimal blood flow, your body is continuously getting the right amount of oxygen. This, in turn, can heal injuries faster and keep your brain sharp.

2. Less Pressure on Joints

By moving into the water, you are relying on your body’s buoyancy to take pressure off of your joints and muscles. It also acts as some light massage therapy for people who suffer from chronic joint pain. Aqua Zumba has also been shown to reduce inflammation and provide relief for soreness felt in the days after other workouts.

3. Better Mood

Not all of the benefits are physical. Participating in a fun class like this can have a tremendous impact on your mental health. Endorphins are released when you start your workout and exercising in the water is a great stress reliever.

If you struggle with anxiety or mood disorders, you may find solace with Aqua Zumba.

4. Social Environment

Like all of our classes, Aqua Zumba offers a wonderful social aspect. Get to know others in the pool or come with a friend! Study after study has shown that working out in a group can be extremely beneficial and boost your performance.

Looking to get started with Aqua Zumba? Here are some frequently-asked questions we get:

What should I wear to Aqua Zumba classes? You’ll want to shop for supportive swimwear with a lot of coverage for each session. Choose a comfortable one-piece swimsuit, a coverup, or an aquatard (one-piece swim legsuit).

Also purchase comfortable water shoes for support, comfort, and breathability. Having water shoes will help you get a better grip on the pool floor. Once you have these items, you’re ready to go!

Are you a person who loves to dance to high-energy music? You will most likely fit right into an Aqua Zumba class. You can expect about an hour long of dance moves to salsa, mambo, cha-cha-cha, soch, and samba styles. The tempo is a bit slower due to being performed in the water.

Aqua Zumba can be a great stress reliever for those dealing with stress and anxiety. Heart health and blood circulation can be significantly improved by joining an Aqua Zumba class.

Aqua Zumba is a full-body, up-tempo workout that can assist in helping you burn off some calories. Due to the resistance of the water, (and water density being about 8x heavier than air), you’ll get added benefits to your workout!

You can burn up to 700 calories per class (1 hour sessions).
