Golf a round of 18
Let’s face it, most of us aren’t good at golf but we keep going every year. Golfing isn’t as much about the competition as it is about the quality time. And if you play 18 holes walking, you will get plenty of steps in and burn your fair share of calories. Treat Dad and buy him a round of golf and pretend you don’t see him use his foot wedge on the back nine.
Cook something on the grill
What dad doesn’t love a nice backyard and a hot grill? If he will let you take control, give your dad a delicious grilled lunch or dinner. There are tons of healthy grilled chicken recipes available that are full of protein. Otherwise, if you and Dad are on a meatless diet, some grilled veggie kabobs and corn on the cob make for a tasty, healthy meal! Whatever you decide to eat, just make sure Dad is happy with it! Go on a hike
Getting outside any way during the summer is great, especially when you can do it with family. Take Dad to a nearby park or wilderness area and enjoy nature’s beauty. This will be a treat for your body, eyes, and mind as walking trails and taking in the scenery will release endorphins for both of you and cause your serotonin levels to rise.
Hang out on the water
Swimming is one of the best all-body exercises you can do. If you’re both up for it, a day on the water is a great way to get some sun and cool off at the same time. Bring your fishing rods, go for a dip, and just bask in the quality time!
