Healthy Recipe – Apple Cider Latte

Ingredients

Apple Cider Latte:

  • 2 shots espresso (or 1/2 cup strong, brewed coffee)
  • 3 ounces apple cider
  • 1/2 cup milk (skim or oat milk work best)
  • 1 Tablespoon maple syrup’

Fall Spiced Whipped Cream:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions

Apple Cider Latte:

  1. Pour espresso or coffee into your mug.
  2. Meanwhile, combine the apple cider, milk and maple syrup in a microwave safe container or in a small saucepan. Heat to a simmer and whisk to make sure it is all well combined.
  3. Heat the milk in a smalls saucepan over medium low heat. Wait for the milk to just start steaming before removing it from the heat. Do not let it come to a boil as this causes the fat to separate and results in curdling.
  4. Use a milk frother to froth the warm milk and cider mixture and pour over the hot espresso or coffee.
  5. Serve topped with whipped cream and a little nutmeg and/or a cinnamon stick.

Fall Spiced Whipped Cream:

  1. Combine all ingredients with a whisk.
  2. Beat with a hand mixer until stiff peaks form, about 3 minutes.
