Losing weight is hard, we all know that. It’s a long process and it takes baby steps to get to where you ultimately want to be. Denise Toomey knows that as much as anyone. After getting laid off a year ago, Denise began drinking and eating takeout more than she normally did. In 2020, she gained 30 unwanted pounds, but she has since taken the right steps to get back on the path towards a healthy and happy life.

Denise was somewhat of a novice when it came to working out. “Before working with the personal trainers I didn’t know how to begin a workout routine,” she told us. “Since working with the trainers I’ve learned proper form and the importance of varying my exercises.” This is not the first time we have heard stories like this and our personal trainers have made a difference in so many people’s lives.

However, success doesn’t happen overnight and it takes time and dedication to reach paydirt. “If one thing, the pandemic taught me to be patient, and as long as I’m making progress, I’ll achieve my goals,” Denise said. This is a great mindset to have, especially if you’re not seeing your end goal come as quickly as you had hoped. As for the immediate results she has noticed? “I’m sleeping better. I’ve also noticed how quickly my muscles adapt after starting a new exercise routine.” Seemingly little things like these are signs of your body progressing and reaping the rewards of staying active.

To keep herself on track, Denise’s plan includes a 5-day-a-week workout routine with weekly step goals as well as filling her diet with more veggies and less fast food. Hey, that’s the perfect recipe for success! We can’t wait to see what else Denise can accomplish, and if she stays on this track, we know for certain that she will end up right where she wants to be!
