Everyone has their own motivating factors, some are just more positive than others. For Cody Dellise, bullying, unfortunately, played a role in his fitness journey. As a young teenager, Cody faced bullying for his weight, but he responded positively and has made his life about fitness ever since. “I was sick of getting bullied for being fat so I decided I needed to make a lifestyle change,” he told us.

Cody has credited Xperience Fitness for part of his success, saying, “Xperience is a great gym with great equipment and great hours. I love the things they have, their staff are really welcoming and it’s a great environment to be in. Others that lift there have helped push me to be where I am today.” Having a sense of community at your gym is an underrated but essential part of finding success.

We often have that breakthrough moment when trying to cut weight or get stronger. For Cody, it was when he reached his 20-pounds-lost goal. “When I made my first proper cut [down to] 170, I was shredded and still getting stronger,” he said. “It was then that I knew that if I push myself with full potential and no excuses I can do anything!”

If you’re new around here, you should know how much we like to preach that working out is just as good for the mind as it is for the body. Cody can attest to that, as he told us, “I have way more confidence now. I walk with confidence and am just confident in my actions and appearance. I even inspired many people through my journey to start getting in shape. It’s a great feeling!”

As for his future goals? Cody said, “I want to continue bodybuilding and pursue being a lifting influencer and coaching people online full time. It is my dream to do that! I can do what I love as a job and help others in the process.” He went on to say, “Don’t worry about what others think and just do you. If you want it bad enough you’ll work for it. Don’t make excuses for yourself!”

Excellent advice, Cody! We love how far you’ve come and we can’t wait to see what else you accomplish!
