In November 2017, Cari decided it was time to lose weight and be in less pain. After having Bariatric surgery earlier that year, she was determined to improve her health, but wasn’t sure where to start. She was at her highest weight of 488 lbs. Once she was cleared 3 weeks post-opt, she made a life-changing decision – she was going to go to the gym consistently. Cari decided it was time to take control of her health and happiness.

“Not knowing what to do was the biggest obstacle. It was very intimidating to walk into the gym at that size.”

Over the past year, Cari has lost 152 pounds and wants to continue to lose more by using Q classes.

The determination to be in less pain and walk again is a theme throughout Cari’s story. She started her transformation by biking and walking at the gym. Then shortly after, with the motivation of Q Lead, Renee, Cari attended her first Q class. After her first session, Cari decided to join Q and go consistently.

“Cari loves the structure of Q training and now attends 5-6 times per week.”

Some weeks, Cari attends Q classes even 8 times a week. Thanks to her effort and Q classes, she started running for the first time since she was 16 years old.

Cari is very excited to say she can walk again, as well as enjoy festivals, go grocery shopping, and utilize the stairs in her home without horrific pain in her knees.

While Cari’s determination was the driving force behind her lifestyle change, she was grateful for the community and support she found at Xperience Fitness. Renee, consistently motivated her and gave her the guidance she was needing.

“Renee (XF Q Lead) continued to motivate my husband and I, and we haven’t looked back.”

She loves knowing what to do at the gym to see results. Another reason Cari enjoys Q so much, is the variety of people that attend classes. They all motivate each other in their own ways.

When asked what advice she would give to others facing similar challenges she did, Cari replied,

“Not everyone at the gym is going to be mean to you. It is intimidating, but if you ask, 9 times out of 10, they are there to help you and want to help you.”

ASK ANYONE if you need something, they want to make sure you know what to do and get the help you need to succeed”

Since, starting her fitness journey, Cari’s life changed drastically. She is no longer in horrific pain, lost a total of 152 lbs, and wants to continue to lose weight to be healthier.

Throughout all of her hard work and training, Cari has developed a true passion for health that she is happy to share.

Great work, Cari! The XF team is proud of you! Thank you for sharing you remarkable story with the XF Community. #ShareYourXFStory
