3 Benefits of Bodyweight Training

Lower Impact

The level of impact is partly dependent on your personal goals, but regardless, bodyweight exercises are generally lower impact than heavyweight workouts. Instead of relying on dumbbells and barbells, the only weight you need is that of your own body. See how it gets its name? Bodyweight exercises usually put less pressure on your joints and have a lower risk of injury if you are properly stretched out and recover the right way.

Efficiency

Bodyweight exercises are easy to complete no matter where you are. You don’t need much equipment (if any at all) and you can easily complete numerous different exercises in a short amount of time. Many people incorporate bodyweight into a HIIT workout and quickly do a number of workouts with short breaks in between. HIIT routines, short for high-intensity interval training, are designed to get you to your max heart rate and burn as many calories as possible in 30-45 minutes.

100% Free

As mentioned, no special gear is needed for a bodyweight workout. All you need is a plan and a good pair of shoes. No need to invest in a home gym when you can reap the rewards of bodyweight training with nothing but an empty workout space. We should mention bodyweight training alone may not get you ripped, but it will give you a great aerobic workout and strengthen your muscles at the same time.’

So find some time and try some bodyweight exercises! Another great thing about a bodyweight workout is you can focus on upper body, lower body, core, or cardio. There are no limitations!
